Union Dance offers imaginative and innovative youth and education activities that promote cultural diversity through integrating dance and movement with digital technology, and art forms, poetry, music and video. Union Dance promotes inclusive perceptions of identity and culture through exploring diverse dance forms.

Union Dance's rich mix of Contemporary Dance, Street Dance and Martial Arts, forms the basis of the company's educational provision, informal and formal learning to extend the boundaries of contemporary dance practice.

During 2009 / 2010. Union Dance in Westminster, London
  • Provided local voluntary and community groups training in workshops in street dance - Provided affordable opportunities for Union Too, training 55 boys In new skills, training also in schools, colleges and after school clubs.
  • Offered free one-to-one advice sessions, mentoring young people and 22 training workshops.
  • Reached out to 6000 family audience with its Union Too youth group and Union Dance professional productions.
  • Promoted positive healthy living, in Fit Fresh Start wellbeing training throughout the school year for Wandsworth, and Brent PRU schools.
  • Empowered hard to reach young people in regeneration areas in after school projects in residencies: 24 afterschool workshops in Hackney.
  • Provided a supportive community environment that increases confidence, communication and teamwork.
  • On the GCSE syllabus for dance related to choreography, supported by resource information and digital packs.
  • Working in sports and dance in partnership with 7 European countries to produce new work with and for young people in 2010 onwards.
